Love is probably what is missing in a turbulent marriage and responsible for the destination; divorce. Surprisingly, love or what we think love is –cannot guarantee a successful union, when it is detailed by God. For instance, Eve after eating the fruit she got from the serpent hurriedly gave it to Adam. She could be accused of many things save lack of love for Adam. She wanted him to be as wise as God and wax the union stronger against their dependence on God. Most Christian homes have nosedived into delirium because they employed worldly romantic anecdotes in their marriages. Romance is theatrical love and articulated hormonal effusions but love-the love God in a man’s heart is a virtue. So we have a situation where it is not love but Gods prescribed love that solidifies marriages.
Many Christian couples are in the dark about what this love is. This is obviously because of how interwoven our lives are to the things of the world. People and even Christians are getting divorce; why can’t I? Some Christian will say. God excused marriage in Moses days because of the wickedness of their hearts. I sure bet they would not have welcomed the reason for this separation largesse. Moreover, in Ezekiel God said in days to come he will replace the heart of men made of stone with that of flesh.
